Our Team

Dr. Melissa Tada is the founding owner partner in Mountain View Vision in Colorado Springs, CO. She began the practice in 2007 with one exam lane and one employee (who still works with her today!) Mountain View Vision has grown to a 4-doctor practice; practicing full scope optometry with specialties in ocular disease, ocular surface disease, pediatrics, vision development and myopia management. 

Dr. Tada’s area of specialty is ocular surface disease. She has been running a specialty dry eye clinic for the last 11 years. Providing patient relief for their everyday activities is the best part of the job! In addition to running the practice, Dr. Tada is involved with the Colorado Optometric Association. She was on the COA Board of Trustees, involved in local political advocacy and currently serves on the 2020 Eye Committee. This committee provides local outreach and education to the broader population. She is also the Vision Source Administrator for Southern Colorado. She gets to help private practices all over Southern Colorado grow to their highest potential and encourage the growth of private practice optometry. Within her role of Administrator, she is also an Administrator Development Coach. In this position, she helps her colleagues develop their leadership styles and professional growth.

When not in the office, she is spending time with her husband and two sons exploring all Colorado has to offer!

Dr. Staci McMullen is passionate about providing the best possible eye care for her patients. She ensures all of her patients leave the office feeling heard and taken care of. She provides general eye care, LASIK and cataract surgery co-management, ocular disease treatment, and has recently taken an active interest in halting myopia progression.

Dr. McMullen is a 2000 graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry where she graduated with distinction. In 2004, Dr. McMullen earned her Fellowship in Binocular Vision and now specializes in pediatric optometry and the treatment of visually related learning problems. Dr. McMullen also practices general optometry, including family eye care, treatment of dry eyes & ocular disease, LASIK and cataract surgery co-management, and contact lens fitting. She has now taken an active interest in halting myopia progression with the use of new contact lens technology and atropine drops. Dr. McMullen has worked with and lectured extensively at local schools to emphasize the importance of efficient visual functioning.

She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Colorado Optometric Association, and the Southern Colorado Optometric Society. Dr. McMullen is married and has two daughters.

Dr. Lisa McKim specializes in specialty contact lens fittings and myopia management. She also enjoys providing general comprehensive eye care, and treating ocular diseases including dry eye, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

Dr. McKim has had a unique optometry career, having been an Air Force spouse for 23 years. She has had the opportunity to practice in many settings all around the country and in Europe. She and her husband were stationed at the Air Force Academy early in their military career and chose Colorado Springs as their post-military home. Dr. McKim enjoys providing comprehensive family eye care. She enjoys treating and managing ocular diseases including dry eye, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Her special area of interest is in specialty contact lens fitting and myopia management. She finds using the latest technology in contact lenses to help patients with challenging prescriptions and irregular corneal surface issues to be extremely rewarding. She is also passionate about helping kids halt progression of myopia using corneal refractive therapy, the MiSight program, and atropine therapy.

She and her husband have two children and enjoy traveling, hiking, and cheering on the Falcons and Switchbacks!

Dr. Gavin Walters is a 2022 graduate of the Arizona College of Optometry where he graduated with distinction. He gained valuable experience in treating ocular disease and fitting contacts in his clinical rotations.

Dr. Walters enjoys providing patients with comprehensive eye exams, fitting contact lenses, and treating ocular diseases. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Colorado Optometric Association, and the Southern Colorado Optometric Society. Dr. Walters is a native of the Colorado Springs area and enjoys fitness, skiing, volleyball, and landscape photography in his spare time.
